Classic Romp is a Dream!
PACK UP your travelling case and prepare to head Around The World In 80 Days with Mr Phileas Fogg – or just under two hours if you travel with the Dream Team.
The new production was aired to a specially-invited audience last week at The Poly in Falmouth, ahead of two dates at the Burrell Theatre in Truro on Friday and Saturday. The show will then embark on a larger scale tour in the new year.
With just three players and a minimal set, the centrepiece of the play is an invention to rival that of Mr Fogg himself – the Swiss Army Prop. This hexagonal marvel contains an array of gadgets, gizmos and 'what-do-you-call-its', that transform the stage from flying machine to an Indian elephant in a matter of seconds. The box of tricks enhances the production's quirky air to a tee.
The romp from Blighty, around the world and back again is a mighty undertaking and with just three players it's a dizzying task.
Pulling the performance together with both confidence and physical exuberance was Jackson Pentland as Fogg's ill-fortuned aid Passepartout – former acrobat, gymnast and fireman.
Admirable support comes from Hugh Holman as Phileas Fogg and Ella Gonzales as Aouda and narrator Oliver Inkslinger (a journalist).
Of course they also play every other character in-between with the help of some nifty quick changes and masks from Detective Fix to their own arresting officer.
This is the Dream Team's first staged production having toured with street performances in the past.
Under the directorship of Guy Watson, Around the World In 80 Days is an action-packed romp which is sure to tickle audiences of all ages.

Keep a lookout for Phileas in the spring, as he promises to be performing in some unusual venues on his journey around the county.

Theatre Based Communication and Confidence Boosting Workshops (PSHE)
Already A Success at Schools and Youth Groups Across Cornwall!
workshops still available to book for new year

Theatre Based Communication and Confidence Boosting Workshops (PSHE)
During the workshops children are encouraged to vividly use their imagination by dramatising a nursery rhyme of their choice. They will work in small groups creating a piece of theatre they can call their own. Each child will learn how to develop a character and will benefit from feedback given from their fellow classmates/teachers/workshop leader.
At the end of the workshop a sketch performance of each section will be shown to the other children in the workshop allowing them to show what they have learnt that day.
At all times children will be encouraged to communicate their ideas carefully and literately to each other and the workshop leader.

These workshops are very adaptable and we are more than happy to work with schools and youth groups to tailor our workshops specifically to your requirements.
If you have any questions or if you are a primary school and are interested in our workshops please get in touch with us on 0844 357 2591 or
